Happy Friday! In what was a sleepy week following the unofficial end of summer, the U.S. Space Command is on the move and Amazon's Kuiper secures its first commercial airline customer. Lets dive in.

1) JetBlue ($JBLU) and Amazon’s ($AMZN) Project Kuiper announced a partnership for inflight connectivity this week.

  • Becoming the first airline to utilize Amazon's satellite broadband network, JetBlue will begin to introduce the technology on a portion of its fleet in 2027.

  • JBLU currently utilizes GEO satellite technology, but new aircraft outfitted with Project Kuiper will pivot to LEO systems. The Company noted it will position itself to explore a multi-orbit solution in the future.

  • To date, airlines such as United, Alaska, and Hawaiian have announced partnerships with SpaceX's Starlink. Lets see which other airline partnerships Kuiper announces in the near-term.

Orienspace Raises $27M Series B+ (SN)The Chinese launch company secured funding of "between $27-124M". The capital will be used to continue development and mass production of their Gravity-2 medium-lift liquid launch vehicle.
