1) Rocket Lab ($RKLB) was selected by NASA to launch the Time-Resolved Observations of Precipitation Structure and Storm Intensity with a Constellation of Smallsats (TROPICS) mission. 

  • The program consists of four CubeSats in two low-Earth orbital planes, into their operational orbit within a 60-day period. These two dedicated missions will launch on Electron from Launch Complex 2 in Virginia scheduled to take place no earlier than May 1, 2023.

 2) Virgin Orbit ($VORB) announced that they evaluated the possibility a securities offering but due to "current market conditions," decided not to proceed.

  • The company noted that any future capital raising transactions will depend upon future market conditions (of course).

 3) Sidus Space ($SIDU) signed an MOU with Capital C to provide maritime satellite design and surveillance.

  • Sidus will assist in developing, delivering, and maintaining surveillance and tracking systems with software that utilizes satellite imagery, sensor data and data delivery.

  • Sidus will also provide continued access to LEO satellite communications systems as well as the design and manufacture of specialized marine parts as a preferred vendor.

The aerospace and defense focused additive manufacturing startup's Rapid Induction Printingā„¢ requires significantly less energy and fewer material resources than current methods.
