 3) Inmarsat released a 20,000 person survey covering 11 countries to dive deeper into question "what is the value of space?"

  • While we cannot cover all the findings of the 50 page document here, the survey suggests that perceptions of space are shaped more by popular culture and less about the role space plays in todayā€™s economy.

    • Findings show 21% of people associate space with ā€˜aliensā€™ and 10% with ā€˜Star Warsā€™ vs. 8% who do for ā€˜communications & connectivityā€™ and 3% for ā€˜broadcasting & televisionā€™.

  • "The most significant insight from this research is that people across the world are largely unaware of the true value of space: neither its current significance nor the value it holds for future generations."
